Maurice Webster is passing the baton…

Effective immediately, Maurice Webster is stepping down as Managing Director of Invetus Pty Ltd. He has decided to start Transitioning-to-Retirement, by relinquishing the reins as leader, and contributing via his deep knowledge of and passion for internal work management systems.

Dr Maurice Webster

Dr Maurice Webster

Maurice became MD of Invetus when it formed in December 2016, and has tirelessly worked to achieve his vision - a resilient and profitable business. In his time as leader, he brought a new business operating model into the company, he has driven the move to electronic data capture and work flow management, he has streamlined our contracts and partnerships, and he has focussed on our people at every stage. We now have a culture that lives our Values, understands business drivers, and which looks for better ways to do things.

Graeme Hollis

Graeme Hollis

One of the most appealing things about Maurice is his integrity; he is honest, respectful and assumes the best in others. He  has also worked more hours than anyone else as Invetus has developed and grown, and we thank him (and his wife Christine) for that. Maurice will remain a Director of Invetus Pty Ltd.

Taking over from Maurice is Graeme Hollis, who has today been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Graeme has been the Director of Business Services for nearly 5 years, and knows the company, its people and partners well. Graeme has worked across a range of agribusinesses, and will bring a new perspective to the CEO role.

Dr Mike Gieseg

Dr Mike Gieseg

Supporting Graeme from a scientific and veterinary perspective, Mike Gieseg will continue in his role as Research Leader, Invetus. Mike is a highly qualified veterinarian who has been with the company more than 6 years.

Under Maurice’s leadership, Invetus has grown from modest beginnings: a group of small research practices, with piecemeal finance and IT systems, variable understanding of business drivers, inconsistent profitability, and patchy people management systems. Today Invetus operates according to a business system, has an organised approach to finding new work, is close to having a fully integrated data management and workflow system, and has people who understand their roles and responsibilities.

We owe Maurice a tremendous debt of gratitude for his vision, energy and commitment, and wish him well as he winds down from the MD role.

We look forward to working with Graeme as CEO, and with Mike, to deliver on the next stage of Invetus’ growth and contribution.
